Due to its harmonious shape, I selected this chest of drawers as candidate for my contribution to the launch of “Classical Cameos”, an Annie Sloan and Iron Orchid Designs collaboration paint inlay, launched in early October 2023. The piece was painted in Annie Sloan Coolabah Green and Country Gray Chalk Paint, dry brushed in French Linen, before adding selected patterns from the inlay and finishing with matte lacquer.
The outcome creates an ancient Rome and Greece atmosphere, evocative of the perfect classic balance that can be found in Marguerite Yourcenar’s novel.
